Covid-19 has given new meaning to the term “going green”! The focus has shifted our sustainable development goals to ways we can adapt to the new normal and help the community; through educating them on ways they can prevent and contain the disease. The pandemic has reminded us of the importance and urgency of community outreach.
As a community outreach programme, Paramount Bank contributed more than 2000 masks to the Westlands Community Area, aiming at educating the community on the Covid-19 pandemic, the necessary prevention measures, and provision of masks to encourage them to adhere with these prevention methods.
About Covid-19
Covid-19 is a respiratory illness spread through direct contact with an infected person. The disease easily spreads and is transmitted through respiratory droplets generated through coughing or sneezing. Transmission can also occur from touching contaminated surfaces and then touching your face (i.e. nose, mouth, eyes). The virus survives on surfaces for several hours but can be killed by disinfectants.
